Emma Terminology
- Account and Sub-account – Duke has one base account (Duke University Parent). Accounts for specific departments or other groups are considered sub-accounts. You will have one or more sub-accounts.
- Audience – All contacts for an account or sub-account
- Audience group/list – A collection of specific contacts (e.g., alumni). In Emma this is called a group. Some email marketing platforms use the term “list” or “audience.”
- Audience segment – A collection of multiple groups/lists or a dynamic collection of contacts based on selected criteria.
