Leadership and Administration

The School of Medicine is led by Mary E. Klotman, M.D., Dean and Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs. Dean Klotman works with a leadership team comprising twelve vice deans, a strategic planning officer, chief diversity and a communications officer, as well as department chairs and center and institute directors. Associate and assistant deans also assist the dean with the oversight and management of the School’s clinical and basic science faculty, MD, health professions and PhD students as well as staff and employees.

Ebony Boulware, MD, MPH, is a Professor of Medicine, Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Vice Dean for Translational Science and Associate Vice Chancellor for Research in the School of Medicine and at Duke University.  Dr. Boulware received an A.B. degree in English from Vassar College, an M.D. from Duke University, and a M.P.H. from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.  After her medical school training at Duke, Dr.
