Speaker:
Dr. Rhea Boyd and Dr. Ebony Boulware
Student National Medical Association, Duke School of Medicine Chapter
presents the 28TH Annual MLK Jr. Banquet
This Black History Month will continue to provide our institution with a unique opportunity to commemorate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by celebrating the achievements of those who fought for equality, while reminding ourselves of current inequalities and the necessary work that needs to be done. Most importantly, we hope this month highlights the tradition of service and advocacy at Duke School of Medicine.
Dr. Boyd will share reflections in relation to her work as a pediatrician and child health advocate. Dr. Boulware provides applications for how we as a Duke and Durham community can combat injustices in healthcare that are apparent, yet sometimes hidden, in the very community many of us have come to call home. Q&A will be moderated by Kirsten Simmons, 4th year Duke medical student.
